A centuries old tradition in Bombinhas was at risk of dying out. To prevent this from happening the destination started to implement steps to safeguard this heritage. It got featured in magazines, a documentary, competitions got created as well as cultural workshops amongst other things. Nowadays the traditional fishermen are happy to share their knowledge with visitors and pass on this culture to future generations.
