The main issue is the rising tourism and the climate change. The solution is to implement a Climate Action Plan, called the Inverness Loch Ness CAP. They are committed to achieve various goals and targets to improve sustainable tourism in their area and encourage businesses to start their journeys towards low-carbon living and achieving carbon neutral status. Since the project officially just started in May 2022 only some data has been collected. Over 400 members will benefit from the project and they have applied for several awards and have been nominated to enter the Scottish Thistle Awards – Responsible Tourism Award.
